From 3-Hour Walk to Basic Healthcare: Health Unit Launched in Dalibang
Previously, residents of Dalibang had to walk nearly 3 hours by foot to reach Rukumkot, District, even for basic medical services, as there was no nearby health facility, and regular vehicle services are still not available. This created major challenges in accessing basic healthcare for vulnerable groups.
To address this issue, the Dalibang Community Health Unit Building in Bhumé Rural Municipality-05, Dalibang, was officially inaugurated on Wednesday by the RM Chairperson & Ward Chairperson.
The building was constructed through collaboration between Bhumé Rural Municipality and the Nepal Magar Society Service & Information Center (MIC Nepal)/Fairmed Foundation Nepal under the SAMBHODHAN Project, with contributions from the local community.
The facility has now started providing essential health services, significantly improving access for people in need, reducing long travel times, and ensuring timely care for vulnerable groups, including women, children, and the elderly.
This initiative shows how strong collaboration can bring healthcare closer to remote communities and ensure no one is left behind.
